Marjorie Hall Bowers, 94, formerly of McKeesport
and White Oak, died on September 17 in Milford, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband,
Richard James Bowers. She is survived by
their son, David James Bowers (Deborah Heuer) of Milford, Ohio, and by their
daughter, Barbara Wattenmaker (Fred) and grandson, Matthew David Wattenmaker,
all of Downingtown, PA, and several cherished cousins. A graduate of Slippery Rock University and
the University of Pittsburgh, Marjorie taught for 35 years in several
McKeesport schools. She was a dedicated
member of McKeesport College Club and achieved membership in the Embroiderer’s
Guild of North America. She treasured
her many friends, supported several local cultural organizations, and was an
enthusiastic traveler and gardener.
Marjorie was a lifelong and very active member of the First United
Methodist Church of McKeesport. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 27 at the First
United Methodist Church of McKeesport, 1406 Cornell Street. Her funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM
with the Rev. Deb Kociban officiating..
Interment will follow in Mount Vernon Cemetery. Hunter Funeral Home, Inc., 1600 Coursin
Street, McKeesport, PA 15132 is in
charge of arrangements. Contributions in
her memory may be made to the church or to the Carnegie Library of McKeesport,
1507 Library Avenue, McKeesport, PA
