Frank W. Peterson

Frank W. Peterson died Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at Greentree Manor Care. Born in McKeesport, April 17, 1913, age 96. Of McKeesport, he was a retired buyer and inventory supervisor at the former G.C. Murphy Company Warehouse. Mr. Peterson was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, a life member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Chapter #9, life member of American Legion Post #701, White Oak, life member of the V.F.W. at large, life member, 12th Armored Division Association, and a volunteer at the Oakland V.A.M.C. A WW II U.S. Army T4 veteran, he served with the 12th Armored Division, and was a member of McKeesport Lodge #375, F&AM, Syria Temple of the Shrine and its McKeesport Caravan #4, Al O Mon Forest #138, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, a 50 year member of the R.W. Grand Lodge of PA, F&AM, a member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite in the valley of Pittsburgh, an honorary member of the Mon Yough Model Railroad Association, and the Grandview Chapter #2171, A.A.R.P.

Son of the late Frank W. and Lena Scheuer Peterson, Sr., husband of the late Olga J. Lichy Peterson, he is survived by 2 nieces, Dorothy Forbes Goodall of Gallatin, TN and Barbara Forbes Creely of Pittsburgh, PA.

Friends will be received in the Hunter Funeral Home, Inc., 1600 Coursin Street, McKeesport, PA 15132 on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. A service will take place there on Saturday at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in McKeesport and Versailles Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
