Gordon L. "Bud" Gorr

Gordon L. “Bud” Gorr, age 85, died Thursday, October 20, 2011 in Jefferson Hospital. Of Glassport, he was a retired bus driver for Port Authority Transit with 24 years of service, a member, deacon and Sunday school teacher of the First Christian Church of McKeesport, a member of the White Oak American Legion, and served as an engineer in the U.S. Navy during WW II and the Korean Conflict, and served in the U.S. Naval Reserve during the Vietnam War.

Born in McKeesport, May 4, 1926, son of the late Louis Edward and Helen M. Willis Gorr, he is survived by his wife, Margaret Brown Gorr; 2 sons, Edward Louis (Kristy) Gorr of Glassport and George Brinker of Port Vue, 1 daughter, Karen Pastor of Ligonier; 6 grandchildren, Melonie (Scott) Juhnke, Alan (Kim) Gorr, both of Indianapolis, IN, Anna Gebrosky of Michigan, Mollie Gebrosky, Jenna and Ethan Gorr, both of Glassport; 1 sister, Evelyn Broadwell of Port St. Lucie, FL; and was preceded in death by his son, Gordon A. Gorr, brother, Willis Gorr, sister, Laverna Markovith, and brother in law, Al Markovith.

Friends will be received in the Hunter Funeral Home, Inc., 1600 Coursin Street, McKeesport, PA 15132 on Saturday from 7-9 PM and Sunday from 12-4 & 7-9 PM. A memorial service will take place Monday at 11:00 AM in the First Christian Church of McKeesport with Pastor Ray J. Beard officiating. The family suggests contributions to the church.
