Louise E. Patterson

Louise E. Patterson, age 101, died Sunday November 6, 2011 in the Masonic Village, Sewickley. Born in McKeesport, August 18, 1910, daughter of the late Lewis W. Patterson and A. Christine Washichek Patterson, who came from Kansas as a trained missionary, and served at the White Street Mission in McKeesport.

Formerly of White Oak and McKeesport, she was a graduate nurse in Pittsburgh, New York City, Florida, and St. Croix, was a member of the First Christian Church of McKeesport and its Senior Sonshiners and its church choir, where she served many years as a Sunday school teacher. A member of the Queen Aliquippa Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, member of the former Chapter #40, Order of Eastern Star, member, Clairton Chapter #316, Order of Eastern Star, member, Ladies of the Grand Army of the Republic, Colonel Sam Black Circle #18, and was a graduate nurse of Boyce Community College.

She is survived by 2 daugthers, Patricia (Mrs. Frank) Kovacic of North Huntingdon Township and Doris (Mrs. Thomas) Frederick of Venice, FL; 6 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; also nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Joseph M. Patterson and Douglas Patterson and by 2 sisters, Virginia Schank and Janet Hughes.

Friends will be received in the Hunter Funeral Home, Inc., 1600 Coursin Street, McKeesport, PA 15132 on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A service will take place there Tuesday at 8:00 PM with Mr. Ray J. Beard officiating. Private interment will follow Wednesday in Grandview Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the First Christian Church of McKeesport.
