Ross Gillingham

A. Ross Gillingham died Monday, June 21, 2010 in Presbyterian University Hospital, Oakland. Born in Columbus, Ohio, January 22, 1922, age 88. Of White Oak, he was the retired manager of F. McLaughlin Trucking Company and was employed by McKeesport Hospital for 10 years. A member of McKeesport Presbyterian Church and its Men’s Association, Youghiogheny Lodge #583, Free and Accepted Masons, and served as a Master Sergeant in the Army Air Corps during World War II.

Son of the late A. Ross and Carrie Shafer Gillingham, Sr.; he is survived by his wife, Dolores “Dee” McLaughlin Gillingham; 2 daughters, Carol (Lowell) Peickert of Eden Prairie, MN and Patty (Dennis) Mooney of White Oak, a son, Tom (Joe Levy) Gillingham of Baltimore, MD; 4 grandchildren, Megan (Peter) Moen of Albertville, MN, Adam Ross Kinney of Detroit, MI, Carrie and Sarah Mooney of White Oak; 2 great grandchildren, Zachary and Emily Moen; and 2 sisters, Martha Jane Turner of Monroeville and Lois Gillingham of McKeesport.

Friends will be received in the Hunter Funeral Home, Inc., 1600 Coursin Street, McKeesport, PA 15132 on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM where a service will take place Friday at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Dr. Darrell Knopp officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in McKeesport & Versailles Cemetery.
