William B. Kost

William B. Kost died Thursday, September 1, 2011at Presbyterian University Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. Born in Pittsburgh, June 9, 1928, he was 83 years old. Mr. Kost was employed by The Daily News, McKeesport, PA from 1957 – 1994, serving the last 30 years as its Controller. Of White Oak, he was a director and past president of the Mon Yough Chamber of Commerce, was a CPA, loved crossword puzzles and classical music, and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Kost was agraduate of the University of Pittsburgh, where he earned both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees.

Son of the late Peter and Zella Kost, he is survived by his wife, Karen Miller Kost; daughter, Gretchen Kost of Coal Center, PA; son, Erich Kost of South Fayette; sister, Alverda Paulson of Albert Lea, MN; nephew, Richard (Karen) Paulson of Albert Lea, MN; and also by great nieces.

Friends will be received in the Hunter Funeral Home, Inc., 1600 Coursin Street, McKeesport, PA 15132 on Sunday from 12-3 and 5-7 PM. A service will take place in the funeral home Sunday, September 4 at 7:00 PM with Charles E. Owston, Minister officiating.
