Charles L. Datel died Friday, June 27, 2008 in Kane Regional Center, McKeesport. Born in Pittsburgh April 15, 1929, age 79. Of the North Side of Pittsburgh, he worked in maintenance and was an electrician with AT&T. A member of the Church of the Risen Lord (formerly St. Gabriel’s) on the North Side, he was a lifelong member of Gednota and was an avid sports fan and fisherman.

Son of the late Lawrence and Mary Agnes Balas Datel, he is survived by his former wife, Eileen Ashton Datel of McKeesport, daughter, Kathleen (Roger) Thompson of McKeesport, 3 grandsons, Michael, Christian, and Blaise, also nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Lawrence Datel and sister, Mary Anne Walsh.

Hunter Funeral Home, Inc., 1600 Coursin Street, McKeesport is in charge of arrangements. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be scheduled in the future. Private entombment will be held Tuesday, July 1 in the mausoleum of North Side Catholic Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the Church of the Risen Lord.
