Dale T. Miller, Sr.

Dale T. (Butch) Miller, Sr. died Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at home. Born in Pitcairn, PA November 22, 1938, age 69. Of Liberty Borough, he was groundskeeper at Edgewood Country Club and owner of Miller’s Landscaping & Services. A US Army Special Weapons Division veteran, he served during the Cuban Missile Crisis, stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas from 1961 to 1962, and was a member of the Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses of West Mifflin. He graduated from Turtle Creek High School in 1957.

Son of the late Elbert Carl and Glenna Brenneman Miller, he is survived by his wife, Mildred L. (Cissy) Hearn Miller, 2 sons, Dale T. Miller, Jr. and Heath B. (Carol) Miller, both of Liberty Borough, daughter, Amy L. (Gary) Phillips of Strongsville, OH, Steven Slominsky, who was like a son, of Liberty Borough, 6 grandchildren, David, Terri, Ashly, Tylor, Lyndsay, and Kody, and a great grandson, Declyan.

Friends will be received in the Hunter Funeral Home, Inc., 1600 Coursin Street, McKeesport Saturday from 2–9 PM. A memorial service will be held Sunday at 5:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1075 Camp Hollow Road, West Mifflin, with Elder Kenneth Mitchell officiating.
