Earl D. Craven, Jr.

Earl D. Craven, Jr. died Sunday, April 30, 2006 at Manor Care, Lancaster, PA. Age 84, of White Oak, he had resided at Country Meadows, Lancaster, PA the past year.

He was the owner of Earl’s Pharmacy in McKeesport for many years, and donated his services to many in the community. A member of Sampson’s Mills Presbyterian Church in White Oak, he was a graduate of McKeesport High School and the University of Pittsburgh. A US Navy veteran of WWII, he was an avid Penn State football fan.

Born in McKeesport, son of the late Earl D. and Alice Kleist Craven, Sr., husband of the late Dorothy Govaller Craven, who died June 7, 2004, he is survived by 3 sons, his twins, Thomas D. (Kim Allen) Craven of York, PA, the Rev. Timothy L. (Kimberley Bates) Craven of Ephrata, PA, and Daniel J. (Dianne Zimmerman) Craven of Meadville, PA; 6 grandchildren, Daniel, Oliver, Spencer, Torie, Katie, and Connor; and a brother, Donald (Alice) Craven of Elizabeth, PA. He was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Septer.

Friends will be received in the Hunter Funeral Home, Inc., 1600 Coursin Street, McKeesport on Saturday, June 3 (the 62nd Wedding Anniversary of Dorothy & Earl) from 9:00 AM until the time of a memorial service there at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Dr. Darrell Knopp and the Rev. Timothy L. Craven officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Elizabeth Township.
