Margaret S. “Peg” Brindza, 88, of Mt Vernon, McKeesport, PA, died Saturday, November 28, 2009 in the Greensburg Care Center in Greensburg , PA. Margaret was born January 23, 1921, in McKeesport, the daughter of the late Richard and Susan Peterson Schmeltzer of McKeesport. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband William L. Brindza (1918-1991) and brother William Richard (1926) . Margaret is survived by her children, Richard and wife, Karen, of Raleigh, North Carolina, Marshall, and wife, Barbara, of Pittsburgh, PA, Bruce and wife, Peg, of Trafford, Pa, David and wife, Faith, of Sherwood, Oregon and Paul Brindza and Colleen Peluso of Greensburg, Pa. and 11 grandchildren and 12 great grand children.

Margaret was active in voluntary service to the Intersection of McKeesport, The McKeesport Food Bank, was proud of her participation in the WQED filming of “Stuff That’s Gone” and “Things That Aren’t There Anymore”, and was a member of the Free Hungarian Reformed Church of McKeesport.

Family and friends will be received from 4 PM to 7 PM in the Hunter Funeral Home, Inc., 1600 Coursin Street, McKeesport, PA 15132, phone number 412-664-4114 on Monday November 30th. Prayers will be offered in the chapel of Round Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth Township at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday December 1st by the Rev. Daniel J. Borsay.
