Howard F. White

Howard F. White, 75, of McKeesport, died Friday, April 28, 2000 in UPMC McKeesport. He was the retired owner of White’s T.V., and retired steelworker at Christy Park and Irvin Works of U.S. Steel. Son of the late Dr. Howard E. and Ruth Gloss White; he is survived by his wife, Margaret Dougherty White; 2 sons, Dr. Curt M. White of Baldwin Borough and Howard F. White, Jr. of Pittsburgh; 2 grandchildren; and his sister, Dorothy Cartwright of White Oak. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Duquesne, Youghiogheny Lodge #583, F&AM, and S.O.A.R. (retired steelworkers). He was a WW II U.S. Army veteran who served with the 88th Infantry Division in the African and Italian theaters of war, and was a recipient of the Silver and Bronze Star awards. A memorial service will be held Monday, May 1, 2000 at 2:00 PM in the Hunter Funeral Home, Inc., 1600 Coursin Street, McKeesport, PA 15132 with the Rev. John J. Gropp officiating. Entombment will follow in the columbarium at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society.
