Reva L. Rack

Reva L. Rack, of Oakland, formerly of McKeesport, died Sunday, March 1, 2015, one hour shy of her 95th birthday, in the Family Hospice at Canterbury, Lawrenceville. Born in Niles, OH, March 2, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Nathan and Freda Gordon Love. Mrs. Rack was a retired high school librarian in the South Allegheny School District, was a member and past president of the Temple B’nai Israel and was a member of its Sisterhood, B,nai Brith and Hadassah. A graduate of New Castle High School, she earned a B.S. degree at Clarion University and pursued her master’s degree at the University of Pittsburgh. She is survived by 3 children, Susan Rack of Boston, MA, Barton (Dee Jay Oshry) Rack of Squirrel Hill, and Bonnie (Gerard) Rack-Wildner of Cecil, PA; her granddaughter, Mackenzie Rack-Wildner and great grandson, Wyatt Rack-Wildner; her sister in law, Ruth Love of Pittsburgh; also by loving family and friends; and was preceded in death by her brothers and sister in law, Howard Love and Morton and Dorothy Love. Friends will be received in the Hunter Funeral Home, Inc., 1600 Coursin Street, McKeesport, PA 15132 on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 from 1-2 PM. A service will be held in the funeral home at 2:00 PM Tuesday with Rabbi Paul Tuchman officiating. Interment will follow in the Temple B’nai Israel Cemetery. The family suggests contributions in her memory to either Family Hospice, 50 Moffet Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15243 or to the Temple B’nai Israel, 2025 Cypress Drive, White Oak, PA 15131, or to a charity of the donor’s choice. The family will receive friends at the home of the deceased, 230 North Craig Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15213 on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings.
