Richard P. Dorman

Richard P. “Pooks” Dorman, age 91, formerly of McKeesport, died Monday, April 27, 2015 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL. Born in McKeesport, December 10, 1923, he was retired from U. S. Steel and was a self-employed electrician. He attended the First Christion Church of McKeesport, was a member of the Duquesne McKeesport Lodge #731, F&AM, Consistory, was a 60 year member of the Syria Temple of the Shrine, a member of General Smedley D. Butler Post #701 American Legion and its Legion Seniors, the McKeesport Heritage Center, was a graduate of McKeesport High School Class of 1942, and was a U.S. Army-Air Force veteran of WW II. Son of the late Richard P. and Mary A. Duffy Dorman, he is survived by his wife, Flora Mae “Flo” Dougherty Dorman; son, Mark R. (Teresa) Dorman; daughter, Kimberly A. (James) Turnbull; 4 grandchildren, Kaitlin, Chad, Tabatha, and Taylor; and 5 great grandchildren, Dylon, Ensley, Brewer, Brigges, and McKinley. Friends will be received in the Hunter Funeral Home, Inc., 1600 Coursin Street, McKeesport, PA 15132 on Monday from 7-9 PM and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 11:00 AM with Ray J. Beard, Minister, officiating. A masonic service is scheduled for Tuesday at 7:30 PM. Interment will follow in Mount Vernon Cemetery.
